Thumbs down Can I start my sentence with "To where" ?

    Dear all,

I am not sure whether I can write a sentence like this:

"To where we are trying to promote more, we only found more need to be done."

It is in my article about trade promotion. I asked one of my friends, and she sugguested that I replace "to where" with "for what". I am not sure which one is correct. Please kindly help me with your correction, and I will be very appreciated if you can also provide an explanation. Thank you.

Neither. It's hard to correct them, as the sense of what you are trying to say is not clear. Possibly this:

'The more trade promotion we did, the more we found needed [/needing] to be done.'

"The more... , the more' is a useful pattern to refer to an ongoing process.

You can try why, or for what reason, but "to where" doesn't work here, in fact it seldom works.
