    Question Sentence Correction

    Plz help to correct the following two sentences if they are wrong.
    1. This is the key to my room.
    2. The stick is soft.

    How many keys are there to your room, and how many of those are you referring to?
    Generally:
    1. is correct if there are multiple keys, and you are referring to all of them.
    2. is correct if there is one key and you are referring to it.
    3. is correct if there are multiple keys and you are referring to one of them.

    There are other possible subtleties of usage. For example 2. is correct sometimes even if there are multiple keys and you are referring only to the one you have on you.
