In modern English useage 'shall' is used almost exclusively in interrogative sentences, 'Shall we go to the cinema?' for example. 'Will' is used to convey intention, 'I will go to the cinema.' for example.

In some dialects, such as Australian English, "shall" has been rendered almost obsolete, apart from set phrases, such as "Shall we dance?"
