    Forming a grade question

    Hello everyone,

If I am going to ask my teacher about my grade in the essay , should I say A or B or c ?

A- would you please tell me how much did I take in the essay?
B-would you please tell me my grade in the essay?
c-would you please tell me what is my grade in the essay?

    Thank you

    With all my best :)

I'd use B (though I'd say 'for the essay') or 'Could you tell me what grade I got for the essay'.

    Hello :)

    Thank you very much

But I need other opinions please , and If I use the other questions rather than B , would it consider wrong or inappropriate?

-I am so confused please, would someone give me a well-clarification?

    Best regards,,

    B. Is the best, with Tdol's small modification. C. is not really wrong, just clumsily phrased. A. Is ok if you replace 'take' with 'get'.

And you could even do without 'grade'. 'Could you tell me what I got for the essay?'

My impression is that in UK schools it's more common to use 'mark'; 'grade' tends to be used for special occasions, like exams! (And in music exams you get marks for individual exercises and an overall grade for the whole exam.)

    Re: Forming a grade question

    Hi window

I agree with the other posters:

A- would you please tell me how much did I take in the essay?
What is my grade on the essay?
    What is my essay grade?
What (grade) did I get on my essay?
    What's my grade?
B-would you please tell me my grade in the essay?
Please tell me what grade I got on my essay.
c-would you please tell me what is my grade in the essay?
    What is my grade?
The one used most often in my country:

    • What (grade) did I get on my essay?
