Question Non military letter of exception

I am going into my second and last year of nursing school and one of the hospitals that I have to do a clinical rotation at to graduate is denying me access to their facilities because I have a drug possession charge from 10 years ago. They are requesting a letter from me to express to them why they should allow me to have access to their facilities. I am unsure of how to approach the letter and the format.

    Any Ideas???

I don't think there's a standard format for this. I think they simply want you to show them how things have changed in your life and how a decade-old charge does not reflect the person you are today. After all, you were accepted for the course and have reached the stage you are at successfully.
