    Re: song of/by

    Hi,
For any organisation or group of people, either a " 's " or "of" is used...but, note that for particular people such as poets, musicians,...etc, you should use "by" instead...
Ex: Have you ever read any work by Shakespeare?
    Hope this works...

CNN Political Ticker: All politics, all the time Blog Archive - Obama plays Taboo on long flight - Blogs from CNN.com
After that attempt left mostly puzzled looks, he admitted the hint may be "too obscure," so he switched gears, saying it was a song by The Beatles.

    Hi,
But we should note, though the name for a band by itself plays the role of an artist, and we could say," the music by Pink Floyd", the phrase "the music by the band Pink Floyd" doesn't sound right...I mean the problem is with the word "band", not the name referring that...

Actually, you can also say a song of someone's meaning a song made by someone:
Have you heard last week's UK Top40 number one song of Katy Perry's (= song by Katy Perry) I Kissed a Girl yet?
