treat sb like shit in normal language?

I have a very passionately written political text to translate and it's full of stuff like "to treat sb like shit" (I don't even know how to say this better) witch-hunt, could you give me some links with this type of vocab or synonyms?

"to treat somebody like shit" means to treat them very badly, as if they were worth nothing. "treat them like a dog" is another term.
This might help with some of your needs.
