    Question Dream Away - F.R.David

    Hi,

I want to know the exact meaning of "Dream Away", it is one of the songs from F.R.David,

is "Dream Away" means "Dream without stopping"?

    Thanks.

Yes, you could interpret it like that. I'm not familiar with the song, maybe the writer intended a different meaning.

I would paraphrase it as something like "go ahead and dream". But I'm not familiar with the song either.

Context, context...and context of the words in a sentence:
    A Dream Away

    Sometimes we have to put
    a perspective on our lives
and separate the dreams from reality.
Stop living in a dream world
and begin to live in our reality.
    Start doing the things
to make our dreams come true
    instead of just dreaming
    that they might someday.
But putting our lives into perspective
is not as easy as it sounds.
In fact, it is hard to do
when all you want is a dream away.

Anyone any other thoughts as to the maning?

I am not a teacher, but in the context provided by David L:

is not as easy as it sounds.
In fact, it is hard to do when all you want is a dream away.
I'd say it is not 'dream away' but 'a dream away', as in 'a mile away'. As close or as far as a dream.

OK, so context makes clear. Thanks.

This is not the Dream Away song from F.R.David.

I think "a dream away" in this song is means "a dream fading away, out of existence", "dream" in "a dream away" is a noun.

The dream away song begins with these two lines:

    Dream away,
    Dream a lifetime,
    .....

The dream in here should be a verb.

In that case, you original interpretation, along with posts #2 and #3, are correct; and the subsequent posts are not.
