Re: Care about / care for / think about / think of

    care about/for
They have the same meaning. However, 'care about' is a bit more formal.

    think about/of
They are very similar in meaning:

    think about = consider
    think of = imagine

I've been thinking about your offer.
    I've thought of you.

Care about is normally used for feelings.
Care for is normally used for activities, such as nurturing.
If you care about your pot plants, why don't you care for them?
This is not an iron-clad rule.

I can't think of the answer. (I don't know the answer at the moment).
I can't think about the answer. (I do know the answer, but it's painful for me to think about it).
Again, this is just one difference.
