    assessment of a few sentences 3

    Dear teachers,

    Would you be kind enough to make an assessment of the following sentences?

    1.1.It is not so easy to set things right. It will take some doings.
    1.2.It is not so easy to set things right. It will take up a lot of our time and energy.

    2.1. In the innermost recess of my heart I felt I was unjust.
    2.2. Deep down in my heart I felt I was unjust.
    2.3. At the bottom of my heart I felt I was unjust.

    3.1. He would talk a lot of the seamy side of life.
    3.2. He would talk a lot of the unpleasant aspects of life.

    4.1. Don’t be so hard on the boy; he meant well.
    4.2. Don’t be unfair to the boy; he meant well.
    4.3. Don’t treat the boy severely; he meant well.

    5.1. Her dream was to become an actress.
    5.2. Her dream was to go on the stage.

    6.1. Your work is up to the mark, nobody is likely to find fault with in.
    6.2. Your work is up to the mark, it leaves nothing to be desired.

    7.1. The proposal is very much to my liking.
    7.2. The proposal is very much after my own heart.

    8.1. She was anxious about her son’s future.
    8.2. She was concerned about her son’s future.

    9.1. This is my own affair.
    9.2. This is my concern.

    10.1. I hope they won’t keep you too long today.
    10.2. I hope they won’t detain you too long today.

    The only sentence I would change:

    2.2 Deep down in my heart I felt I was unjust.
