    Hello, I'm The French,

I don't understand exactly what is your question, but if you want one word who has an approching meaning of "next" you have after or near (next to).

Example : After Friday you have Saturday.

    Have nice day.

In order for it to mean the following day you would write the next day
If you wish to mean the following Friday you would write next Friday

I can understand what you mean though. If it was Thursday and you said next Friday, people would take that to mean the Thursday of next week.
