    Singluar or Plural Verb?

    Dear teachers,

    Please let me know which verb I have to use in the following sentences.

    1)Which (live / lives) longer, cats or dogs?
    2)Which (live / lives) longer, a cat or a dog?
    3)Which (is / are) more suitable for the blank, a cat or cats?

    Which lives longer? A cat (lives longer) or a dog (lives longer)?
    Which (word) is more suitable to fill in the blank?
