    Thumbs down Tim insisted on...

Could anyone of you can help me with this question:
"Tim insisted on being told the complete story"
    A. Nothing but the whole story satisfied Tim.
    B. Tim insisted on the complete story being told.
    C. Tim demanded on being told the complete story.
    D. The complete story was insisted on being told.
My answer is "C" Tim demanded on being told the complete story" but the answer is "A" : Nothing but the whole story satisfied Tim.

    MANY THANKS

A and B are both possible. C is not correct, we don't 'demand on' something.

If the exercise is to choose a sentence that means the same, A is not correct.
The index sentence occurs before the complete story is told.
    A. can only be affirmed after the complete story is told.
Tim's insisting on being told the complete story does not imply that he will be satisfied once he's heard it.
    B. is not correct either. The index sentence suggests that Tim must be told the whole story. B. merely suggests that Tim insists the complete story be told (perhaps to Jane).
But I'd choose B if I had to choose.
