    The meaning of words

Could you tell me the difference between road and street?
when we use road and when we use street?
for example: I live on Western Street or i live on Western Road.
    - the difference between Avenue and Boulevard.

A road is a street is a road. 'Road', in titles, tends to be used for longer streets/roads. But in general use you can use either in sentences such as: The ball bounced out onto the road/street.
An avenue is a boulevard. Both refer to wide, major roads lined with trees.
