    Exclamation Apologize

    Hello there

    Which sentence is correct? or both are correct?

    The child was told to apologize to the guests for being rude.

    The child was told to apologize for being rude to the guests.

    Please help me!

    Both are correct but the meanings are slightly different.

    In Sentence#1, all we know about the child is that he or she was rude.
    In Sentence#2, we know that the child was particularly rude to the guests.
