grading

Hi

I am a new teacher and am wondering if any one has any good ideas on how to grade levels for adult students. Any special criteria

It's a good idea to assess your students at the beginning of the term to get an idea of their existing level, then teach from that level, and grade them on the basis of what they have learned in your class.

If I were you, I would
- focus on what they have already had (lg courses, materials...)
- study the criteria they have met to attend my class!
- define a 'survival' level with which the current class would go on
- think of the components of the above
- consult an assessment expert there
- use the existing placement tests or develop my own (which is more difficult)
