    Question Business letters

When writing a business letter we use cc to send copies of letter to more persons.
Does it mean the letter is for their information only or would they be required to take action, if requested in the letter?

If you want the action to be taken by all the recipients in the letter, you should put them all in the main recipients line.
But the information in the body of the letter will make it clear whether the cc recipients are meant to act or not.
    If your letter reads:

    Dear Mr Jones,
    Please do X for me.

    cc. Mr Smith, Mr Johnson.

then don't expect Mr Smith or Mr Johnson to do it for you.
