How about the two of us doing sth?

    1. How about taking a walk down the garden?
    2. How about the two of us taking a walk down the garden?
    3. How about we take a walk down the garden?
    4. How about the two of us take a walk down the garden?

Are all four sentences as good and natural? Do native speakers often use 'the two of us' in this situation (where I think a simple 'we' is enough)?
(I would think sentences 1 and 3 are better for their simplicity.)

And is 'down the garden' as good as 'down the garden path'?

    Thank you in advance.

Are all four sentences as good and natural? They are all correct. Do native speakers often use 'the two of us' in this situation (where I think a simple 'we' is enough)? Probably not.
(I would think sentences 1 and 3 are better for their simplicity.) Yes they are.

And is 'down the garden' as good as 'down the garden path'? Yes.

    Thank you in advance.

Hi, bhaisahab. Thank you for your help. Another question about 'How about...?':
In the sentence 'How about if we take a walk?' does 'if' mean 'whether', as one of my teachers told me?

    Thank you again.

You can't use 'How about if....' you can say 'how about taking a walk' or 'what if we take a walk'. In this case 'if' does not mean the same as 'whether'.
