    hunters

    Is it correct to begin a sentence with..... For us hunters? or For we hunters?

    Welcome to the forum

    What I think is:
    If we use "for" as a conjunction meaning "because", we should say:
    For we hunters.
    "hunters" is the subject.



    If we use "for" as a preposition meaning "to", we should say:
    For us hunters.
    "hunters" is the object and receiver.

    (I am not a teacher)

    I agree.

    For us hunters, this new hunting licence is far too expensive. For we hunters aren't very rich, you know!
    Take 'hunters' out and you still have a grammatical sentence - that's how you know it's right.
