    a question

    Hi

A referee after a fight asks one of the fighters: Did you ever think of going to the body when you had him getting punched out at the ropes?

--- What is he exactly asking him about?

Maybe the referee was asking the figther whether he had thought about attacking his oponent's body rather then only his head. Maybe the one punched out at the ropes had his guard down and the attacking one didn't notice.

But I think a referee could not say that, he should remain neutral.

    P.S.: Not a native speaker.
