    Exclamation the other vs another

    Hello there.

    What is the difference?

May I have the other cup of coffee?
May I have another cup of coffee?

"Another" sounds correct to me, but I am not sure.

    Please help me.

If you would like an additional cup of coffee after finishing one, you'd say "May I have another cup of coffee, please?"
If your host came out with two cups of coffee and offered you one of them, but you preferred the other cup, you'd say "May I have the other cup of coffee, please?" This would be very unusual, unless you believed that your host was trying to poison you!
