    Dear teacher,

    I am having a problem to understand with the usage of "to" and "for" as the examples below:

    He gives the money to her
    He gives the money for her

    Could you elaborate the meaning or intention for each sentence above. Thank you before for your attention to my post.

    He gives the money to her. = She receives the money directly from him.
    He gives the money for her. = He gives the money to someone else for her benefit/to be given to her.
