Which are correct:

1) It wouldn't have been seen by a man sitting, but it would have been by a man standing.

2) It wouldn't have been seen by a sitting man, but it would have been by a standing man.

3) The necklace was found by a man jogging.

4) The necklace was found by a jogging man.

One could of course use 'a man who was...', but I want to see whether that could be avoided.

Gratefully,
Navi.

3) The necklace was found by a man jogging.

4) The necklace was found by a jogging man.
The man was jogging in #3, whereas #4 describes the man as a jogging enthusiast (he may/may not have been jogging at the time).

But you'd struggle to find the context where #4 would be natural. ;-)
