Which are correct:

1-We need a man to lead.
2-We need a man for leading.
Meaning: We need a man capable of leading.

3-We need a man to lead the country.
4-We need a man for leading the country.
Meaning: We need a man capable of leading the country.

To me, "1" seems to be saying that we need a man we can lead.

I think 3 is correct but means something different. It says that it is desirable for us that a man should lead the country. But it does not say we need a man who has the capacity for leading the country.

Gratefully,
Navi.
