I am wondering if my sentences are grammatically correct.

A minute or two after Bob clocked off, a huge explosion shook the chemical plant behind him. As soon as he arrived home, he switched on the radio and heard there were many casualties. Had he worked that shift, he would have probably been one of them.

American laborers clock out. The adverb in the last sentence should go after would.

People usually clock off/out inside the building so if there was a huge explosion just a minute or two later, it's likely that Bob would have been caught up in the explosion as he wouldn't have had enough time to get a safe distance away.
