I wonder what "for the sake of argument" means exactly and how to use it. Could someone please give me a few examples?

If you want someone to imagine or accept a view just to examine it, you could use the phrase. Supposing, I wanted you to imagine that you were guilty of murder in order to convince you of the need for the death penalty, I could say 'Let's say, for the sake of argument, you're a killer' It doesn't mean that you are at all, but I'm trying to set out limits for argument. ;-)
