what's the difference between thest two sentences below?

1. I want you to take a second and think about it
2. I want you to take a second to think about it

There is not necessarily any difference between the two sentences. (Having some context might help.)

They have the same meaning. I prefer #2. They are not two separate acts. The second is for the thinking. :wink:
