Which verbs are correct? I goes for "is" in all three sentences.

A variety of facilities is/are offered.
A wide rang of facilities is/are offered.
There is/are a variety of shops and restaurants.

A wide range of facilities is/are offered.
There is/are a variety of shops and restaurants.

I would use "is" in all three. You will hear "are" from some people, particularly in sentence 2.
