Abbreviations in Powerpoint presentations

In a Powerpoint presentation, if a bullet begins with "e.g.", and is therefore the beginning of a sentence, shouldn't it remain in lower case?

Your choice; I've seen it E.G, E.g, e.g.

But why don't you just use the words "For example:" ?

It's perfectly proper!

Thanks for the reply. Boy, times have changed! I wonder if it is because I grew up in the 50s.:)
