Dear teachers,

Which of these are correct? How do native speakers say it?

1. A bus can sit 30 people.
2. A bus can seat 30 people.
3. A bus can hold 30 people.

#1 is not usually heard.

#2 is fine.

#3 is fine if no standing passengers are permitted — otherwise, say 'A bus can hold/carry 50 people/passengers — 30 seated and 20 standing'.
