Hi alex,
We like you to tell us what you think first.
It doesn't matter if you're wrong, but people are more likely to help you if you look like you're trying.

***** NOT A TEACHER *****

Good afternoon, Alex.

(1) The clause is "that I'm one of the members of this group."

(2) Here's the problem:

(a) Some books say it is a noun clause.
(b) Some books say it is an adverbial clause.

(3) But all books agree that it modifies the adjective "happy."

(4) "Happy" is an adjective expressing mental attitude. Other such adjectives:

afraid, certain, sure, confident, glad, positive, sorry, etc.

(5) You will have to ask your teacher whether s/he wants to classify it as a noun clause being used as an adverb or as an adverbial clause.

(6) Since your question used the term "adverbial clause," I am guessing that your teacher considers it an adverbial clause

(7) Remember that the word "that" only introduces the clause. It is not really necessary:

I + am + happy + (that) I am one of the members of the group.

Have a nice day!
