I am wondering if my sentences are grammatically correct.

After Bob graduated from university with the diploma in philosophy, he was upset that the only job he could find was in a restaurant kitchen. There, scrubbing pots, pants and plates, and peeling and cutting potatoes, onions and carrots, he wondered what famous philosophers would have said about his sad fate.

- Again, consider "a diploma" if this is the first instance of it.
- I would use "in the kitchen of a restaurant" or "as a kitchen hand in a restaurant".
- Note "scrubbing pans".

One usually graduates from university with a degree. A diploma is considerably less prestigious.

In the United States, graduating high school students receive a diploma. Every attainment after that is a degree.
