When referring to a chain of items, how does one refer to "the next after the next"? I mean, in a better way than this. For instance, I'm talking about an article published in the February issue of a magazine. Then I want to say: the sequel was published not in the next (March) issue, but in the (post-next) April issue. I'm looking for other ways of saying the underlined.

Either, slightly formally, 'the second following issue', or - more commonly - 'not the next but the one after that' - I don't think there's a special word for it (as there would be for previous issues: 'antepenultimate' ='relating to the N-2 edition' [rarely if ever used - except in a jocular vein, - but it exists]).
