Are my sentences grammatically correct?

After playing for a few Premier League clubs, Jim retired at the age of thirty six. With his earnings he was able to buy a hotel at the seaside and then went into tourism.

Other than that, it's okay. You might want to try revising the second sentence though.

Maybe I should add "he" in my second sentence.

The final clause doesn't flow well from the first.

With my amendment, yes. I like this version better than any of the earlier ones.

The second he bought the hotel he went into tourism, so then does not work for me.
