I am wondering if my sentence sounds natural.

After suffering a bad fall working as a chimney sweep, Bob had to quit his job because he lost confidence working at a height.

It sounds quite natural to me.

Admittedly, however, I live in Canada, a region that has received huge numbers of non-native-speaking immigrants. They have learnt English since making Canada their home. And although the USA has recently accepted more non-native-speaking migrants than Canada, on a per capita basis our intake has been much higher.

So I think that Canada is probably the most tolerant country in accepting neologisms as natural among all the countries whose native language is English.
