I am wondering if my sentence sounds natural. Is it correct to write "goings-out"?

Alison's parents had put a stop to her goings-out until she got better marks in school.

teechar,

The problem is I do not know what kind of a noun to use instead of "goings-out". I know that someone "goes out in town", but I do not know how to form a correct noun from that verb.

I wouldn't try to make a noun in the context. The only similar noun is "goings-on" but that doesn't work here.

Her parents put a stop to her going out until ...
Her parents put a stop to her socialising until ...

I suppose you could use "her social life".

If they stopped her going out altogether, they grounded her.
