Hello all members!
Allow basecoat to B-stage with good ventilation until coating has tacked up but released all solvent (coating leaves a fingerprint but does NOT come up on finger --this may take up to 24 hours depending on temperature and air flow).
Could you tell me if my understanding of the above sentence is right?
Allow basecoat to enter B-stage with good ventilation until coating has (almost) dried up but given off (expelled) all solvent (a fingerprint is embossed in coating but the coating itself does not adhere to finger (because it is not moist enough) --this may take up to 24 hours depending on temperature and air flow).
Thank you. The fragment is taken from "Coating the repair spots". The title of the document is MarineMend Repair System Kit Procedure for MarineLine coated tanks.
I put in bold type the fragments I am most interested in.
