Hello,

I'm trying to fit both "always" and "neatly" in my sentence, but I'm not sure which adverb goes where?

1. She always neatly writes a shopping list.

2. She always writes a shopping list neatly.

3. She neatly writes a shopping list always.

I personally feel that Sentence 1 captures what I want to say, but I'm not so sure it sounds natural in English.

Thank you.

Hello,

I'm trying to fit both "always" and "neatly" in my sentence, but I'm not sure which adverb goes where?

1. She always neatly writes a shopping list. :-? Possible, but stilted.

2. She always writes a shopping list neatly. :tick:

3. She neatly writes a shopping list always. :cross: But arguably possible with contrastive stress on the 'neatly' and a big pause before 'always'.

I personally feel that Sentence 1 captures what I want to say, but I'm not so sure it sounds natural in English.

Thank you.
