1. Doesn't it have to be "the other" considering the relationship beween two lovers? Does it mean a third person?
2. In "having that person feel", does "have" mean "let or allow" or "possess"? Depending on which meaning it is, the interpretion would be quite different.

Neither is correct.

It just means that they are in a situation in which this thing happens to them.

My wife had her handbag stolen yesterday.
I had a waiter shouting at me yesterday, a most unusual experience her.

It seems to deal with the relationship between two lovers, so "the other" seems to fit. I don't know why "another" is used here.
