Are these sentences correct in terms of grammar?


His doctor says he has a pre-existing arthritic condition in his neck and this is a long-term problem that should not be disabling and there is no reason for him not to be driving a car.

The sentence would probably be clearer like this:

His doctor says he has a pre-existing arthritic condition in his neck and although this is a long-term problem, it should not be disabling and there is no reason for him not to be driving a car.
