'Any' or 'a': Which one should I use in the context?

The Nationalist Party has won 25 seats so far. No other party has been able to win a/any seat after several rounds of counting.

Either "a" or "any" is possible but after "any" you would need "seats".

Really, only "a" is possible in the sentence as written. You have to change seat to seats if you want to use "any".
