I am wondering if my sentences are grammatically correct.

As a boy, Peter used to spend school holidays in his grandfather's electronic repair shop, where he disassembled old TV and radio sets and other appliances. When the time came to choose a university course, Peter took electronic engineering, because that was the only subject he could imagine studying.

I'd say either "his school holidays" or "the school holidays". I'd probably choose "the" to avoid the repetition of "his".
