Dear teachers,

What does the underline part mean in the following sentence?

The obese children also classed sweet tastes as a much lower intensity than other normal children.

Thanks.

The children were asked to taste different flavours and then class them by their intensity. Non-obese children classed the flavour of the sweet foods as something like "intense" or "very intense". However, the obese children classed the sweet foods lower down the scale, perhaps "only a little intense" or "not intense at all".
