1-At the party we did not dance as in the days of our youth.

Does this mean:
1a-We did not dance at all but we used to dance in the days of our youth
or:
1b-We did not dance in the manner we danced in when we were young?

2-At the party we did not dance, as in the days of our youth.

Does this mean:
2c-We did not dance at all but we used to dance in the days of our youth
or:
2d-We did not dance in the days of our youth and we did not dance at the party either.

Gratefully,
Navi.

It probably means #1b
2-At the party we did not dance, as in the days of our youth.

2c-We did not dance at all but we used to dance in the days of our youth

2d-We did not dance in the days of our youth and we did not dance at the party either.
It probably means #2c.

Only context will make the intended meanings clear.
