1) What does as ordinarily obtained mean?

Milk, as ordinarily obtained, is seldom used except as a diluting agent.


2) Could you give some other examples with the same pattern? that is <as +adverb + participle II>

1) It means 'from a bottle or carton' as that's where most people get milk from.

Would it sound ugly this way?

As ordinarily obtained milk is seldom used except as a diluting agent.

A comma after obtained is essential. I prefer the first version.

Come to think of it, without knowing what is being diluted, I don't see the point of as ordinarily obtained at all.
