I would also like to welcome you to UsingEnglish. I don't use MSN much as I find it rather intrusive. I prefer the more leisurely approach that posting on forums allows. I only use MSN when I have a problem that needs sorting out urgently. Other than that, I prefer asynchronous communications, as I believe forums and emails are termed. ;-)

You're welcome. :D

No question asked in the pursuit of knowledge is a silly question. (I assume you mean forum.)

I suppose MSN (Microsoft Messenger?) can give you a chance to practice what you have learned.

There's a great deal of reason in tdol's words.

Always.

And I learned a new phrase today: asynchronous communications.

:D

I am overwhelmed by your hospitality. It seems to me that I've found the right place where people do not hesitate to point out others' mistakes, which will prove to be quite helpful for us English learners.
Aha, I will be here as often as my time permits.

It means the person is s new student here. When students arrive at university in America, this is what they are called. ;-)

It means that it doesn't happen in real time. You put up a post, but it doesn't mean that I read it straightaway. Messenger conversations take place in real time. ;-)

Tdol, what do you mean by " believe forums and emails are termed" ? I don't understand the meaning of 'termed " here. :?:

He means that is what they are called. In forums (like this one), one posts a message and the answer doesn't (usually) come right away.
