Hello,

At night, all cats are green.

I'm not sure if this a proverb or not. But what does it mean?
Does it mean that cat eyes turn green in the darkness?
Or does it mean that cats become green with envy and quarrel at night for food.

Thanks.

It's usually 'grey', not green'.

It's a way of saying that we are unable to judge things by their appearance when it is dark. It is sometimes used by people whose partner does not look attractive. It is a way of suggesting that you can't tell an ugly person from an attractive one when you are in bed with them (in the dark).
