"be going to" in speech

Do you often use "be going to" (without contraction) in speech? Or is "gonna" more usual?

I'm going to do it. or
I'm gonna do it.

It's very rare to enunciate be going to in American English except for emphasis:

I'm going to do it, Mom! Just give me a few minutes! We'd usually slur to do into "tuhdoo" in this case.
