Please, meaning for "be married to" at following sentence:

DART's zen-like minimalist offices on stage were married to a downtown high-end office building overlooking a harbor

Zen-like is also a mystery. Is there a kind of zen interior design?

And "on stage"? What is it referring to?

Sentence is informing about inspiration for a production designer of a movie.

Thanks :-D

This is a description of the set design fon stage for a play?

DART's zen-like (japanese-like in design, very soothing) minimalist (a style using not much furniture, very stark)offices on stage (for the set) were married (joined as one) to a downtown high-end office building overlooking a harbor

Thanks for your help, but let me specify your answer. When you say "joined as one" do you mean "built copying in the set the original offices which are near the harbor?

Grateful, again :-D

Looking at the phrase, I wonder if it in fact means that they are visually linked, not necessarily physically joined.

Yes, combined into one.

I thought I had an antique baby carriage, but later found out it was a "married" piece, i.e. two different era parts put together as one.

Visually, Dart's minimalist-style offices were combined with the downtown high-end offices as one entire set on stage.

Having now tracked down the article, it is clear that the minimalist office set [filmed as an interior set] was virtually "inserted" into the office block on the Vancouver harbour front - ie, the exterior shots show the office block, the interior shots show the office as created on set - the characters could be shown going into the office block, and then in the office are apparently looking at the same scene that can be seen from the entrance.

Thank You both of you. Now I fully understand what does "married to" mean here"?
