Are my sentences grammatically correct?

Bea wanted to sleep a bit more, but her mother grabbed her by her shoulders and shook her roughly. "Get up! You'll be late to school." Bea half-opened her eyes, and the wave of hatred washed over her. She wished her father was still alive. She never liked her mother.

See above. I think "You'll be late to school" is OK in Irish English but it doesn't work in BrE.
